LEAV Aviation Partners with AirFi to Enhance Inflight Entertainment, Connectivity, and Retail Experience

With this step, LEAV becomes the first airline to publicly announce its deployment of AirFi’s award-winning low-earth-orbit (LEO) connectivity solution

LEAV Aviation is taking its inflight experience to the next level by partnering with AirFi, a global leader in portable inflight entertainment, connectivity, and onboard retail solutions.  From March 2025, passengers flying with LEAV will have access to a new suite of digital services enabled by AirFi, including wireless entertainment, real-time messaging, and seamless onboard shopping.

With this step, LEAV signals its intention to continually elevate the onboard experience for its passengers, and it also becomes the first airline to publicly announce its deployment of AirFi’s award-winning low-earth-orbit (LEO) connectivity solution.

LEAV Aviation’s two Airbus A320-200 aircraft, each configured for 180 passengers, operate a mix of charter and scheduled flights to destinations across the Greek islands, the Balearics, and Scandinavia. With AirFi’s innovative technology, the airline is introducing three key services: wireless inflight entertainment (W-IFE), low-Earth-orbit (LEO) satellite connectivity, and a mobile payment system to support crew and facilitate onboard retail.

Passengers will be able to stream a variety of entertainment options directly to their personal devices, from movies and TV shows to music, games, and an interactive moving map. The system supports multiple languages, making it accessible to LEAV’s diverse customer base. Digital newspapers, magazines, and airline-specific content will also be available.

LEAV’s new LEO connectivity will allow travellers to send and receive text messages mid-flight, ensuring they can stay in touch even while airborne. The system uses lightweight, window-mounted antennas, which reduce drag on the aircraft and keep fuel efficiency in check while delivering reliable connectivity.

The airline is also introducing a seamless digital shopping experience onboard. AirFi’s mobile payment solution gives flight attendants access to a fully integrated point-of-sale system, enabling secure, real-time payment validation. This online payment validation and flexible payment options allow for a broader range of onboard shopping experiences.

“We’re always looking for ways to enhance our passenger experience, and our partnership with AirFi is a major step in that direction,” said Daniel Broda, CEO of LEAV Aviation. “With new streaming entertainment, onboard connectivity, and a smarter retail system, we’re making flying with LEAV more enjoyable and convenient than ever.”

Job Heimerikx, CEO of AirFi, added: “We’re excited to work with LEAV Aviation to bring our inflight solutions to their growing network. LEAV’s forward-thinking approach aligns perfectly with AirFi’s mission to create seamless, engaging experiences in the sky.”
