Eaton reinforces long-term commitment to the Airbus A380 with new High Slip Induction Motor fuel transfer pump upgrade

Intelligent power management company Eaton announced that they have enhanced its A380 capabilities portfolio with the newest High Slip Induction Motor (HSIM) fuel transfer pump upgrade. Built on Eaton’s induction motor technology used across numerous commercial aircraft applications, the next generation pump is designed to improve reliability and reduce pump weight, with the aim of helping operators reduce fuel consumption and lifecycle operating costs and support long-term aircraft availability.

As Airbus A380 operators continue to extend the service life of their fleets to meet growing demand on high-capacity routes, Eaton is reaffirming its long-term commitment to supporting the world’s largest passenger aircraft through continued investment in innovative aftermarket solutions. As the A380 continues operating globally for nearly two decades, Eaton’s new pump upgrade reinforces the long-term strategy to provide dependable aftermarket support for operators for years to come.

“The A380 remains a vital asset for many of the world’s leading airlines, and we recognize the importance of providing operators with the products, services and engineering support needed to keep these aircraft flying efficiently for the long term,” said Matt Norman, vice president of aftermarket and commercial services for Eaton’s Aerospace Group. “The HSIM fuel transfer pump is a clear example of Eaton’s commitment to investing in the future of the A380 fleet and delivering solutions that address the evolving needs of operators.”

The development of the HSIM fuel transfer pump also highlights Eaton’s broader capability to modernize and sustain aerospace systems throughout their operational life. Drawing on more than 100 years of aerospace innovation and engineering expertise, Eaton helps customers address obsolescence, reliability and supportability challenges through replacement and modernization solutions. The successful development of the HSIM fuel transfer pump demonstrates Eaton’s ability to leverage proven technologies and apply them to new and existing aircraft platforms, extending product lifecycles, improving fleet supportability and creating long-term value for operators
