The integration of multicore and multi-system architectures, which often include diverse elements like Systems on Chip (SoC) introduces significant testing challenges for avionics systems.

Understanding the behavior of these systems and establishing comprehensive testing protocols is complex. Traditional testing methods, designed for single-core environments, are inadequate for ensuring the accuracy and performance of multicore systems. These challenges are further complicated by issues such as data coupling and control coupling, safety-critical timing analysis for multicore setups, the need for deterministic behavior, and the demand for extensive coverage testing.

The latest guidelines under A(M)C20-193, which have replaced CAST-32A, address these complexities. To effectively test and verify these systems, a deep understanding of both the hardware and software components involved is essential.

In this webinar, we will address three multicore-related questions that not only highlight the unique aspects of each company’s multicore technologies but also demonstrate how they work together. We will also present each company’s perspective on key aspects of the multicore certification process based upon their areas of expertise.

  • In your part of the stack/mosaic of the multicore certification, what are the most important features to handle interferences?
  • How are your solutions playing together with the other 3 companies?
  • What is your company’s perspective on key aspects of the multicore certification process based upon your areas of expertise?

SPEAKERS:

  • Altaf Hussain, Product Manager, NXP Semiconductors
  • Olivier Charrier, Functional Safety Specialist, Wind River
  • Damien Chabrol PhD, Directeur Innovation & Stratégies, ASTERIOS TECHNOLOGIES
  • Sam Thompson, Senior Multicore Analysis Engineer, Rapita Systems
