EASA and EUROCONTROL reinforce partnership on sustainability and civil-military cooperation

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Executive Director, Florian Guillermet, and the EUROCONTROL Director General, Raúl Medina, signed an amendment to the Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) between the two organisations, further reinforcing the strong EASA-EUROCONTROL partnership on sustainability and cooperation.

EASA’s longstanding and strong cooperation with EUROCONTROL covers key areas of mutual interest — ranging from safety and innovation to efficiency and sustainability — all aimed at ensuring the optimal functioning of the European aviation safety system.

Since its original signing in 2021, the MoC has evolved significantly. The EASA-EUROCONTROL Joint Work Programme and the Technical Cooperation Office (TeCO) have become key drivers in advancing shared goals in sustainable aviation and air traffic management (ATM), and this partnership has strengthened the synergies between both organisations’ technical and scientific teams through regular exchanges of information, data, knowledge, and expertise.

In April 2024, the MoC was expanded to include new domains: training, cybersecurity, research & innovation, as well as communication, navigation and surveillance (CNS).
